The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County (Charities) in partnership with the Iota Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated participated in the Young, Black, and Giving Institute’s Give 8/28 Fundraiser. The mission of the Young, Black, and Giving Black Institute (TBGB) focuses on educating, inspiring, and empowering young black professionals, influences, social entrepreneurs, and activities to effectively invest in changing their communities through philanthropy.
Charities raised over $6K from Give 8/28 to support programs with over 110 donations made. Also, Charities won a total of $600 in additional prize money from TBGB. This was our second year participating with the Young Black and Giving Back Institute- Give 8/28 and we exceeded our target of $3,500. Funds will go to support Charities and IGO programs that directly impact the community.
