Have you heard of Give 8/28?

ree

On August 28, 2025, The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County, Inc. (Charities) will proudly join the national movement of #Give828—a powerful day of giving dedicated to supporting Black-led and Black-benefitting organizations.

#Give828 is unique because it not only takes place during Black Philanthropy Month, but it also honors historic milestones in Black history that occurred on August 28:

  • 1963: The March on Washington, where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech.

  • 1968: Rev. Channing E. Phillips of Washington, D.C. became the first Black American nominated for U.S. President by a major political party.

  • 2008: President Barack Obama accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination at Invesco Stadium in Denver, Colorado.

  • 2025: YOU can make history by joining #Give828 and advancing Black self-empowerment through philanthropy!

Charities remains committed to leaving an indelible impact on the community by:

  • Empowering youth

  • Strengthening families

  • Building generational success

We know a healthy family builds a healthy community, and together we are stronger. Your support helps us continue to meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and families in Prince George's County.
