On October 6th, 2018, The Sarah Wise Wooten Young Ladies Academy (SWWYLA) held its first workshop of the new program year at the Ivy Youth and Family Center. The workshop focused on team building activities which gave the girls an opportunity to get to know each other and build new relationships. We opened with an engaging icebreaker activity where the girls express their unique personality traits and explore similarities among themselves. We continued with another activity where the girls used emoji images to best describe themselves.
Each girl had an opportunity to design and present her personal story to the group. The icebreakers created a fun and nurturing environment where the participants were free to express themselves, communicate openly and learn from one another.
