The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County Inc. Awarded $35,000

On July 25th, President Deidre N. Jackson, Executive Director Cheryl Petty Garnette and members of The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County Inc., attended the 2nd Annual Local Impact Grants Awards Ceremony hosted by the Prince George’s County Local Development Council (PGCLDC). This event celebrated 11 non-profit organizations that were awarded funding to serve the people and communities around MGM National Harbor. PGCLDC awarded $337,000 in funding that was granted to these organizations ranging from $20,000 to $35,000. The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County Inc. was awarded $35,000 to support the Popcorn Club, led by Chairman Bea Leaonard. The Popcorn Club offers tutoring and academic enrichment efforts, targeting 4th and 5th grade students, at Forest Heights Elementary School.
