Earlier this year, Rosa Page stepped up to serve as the Chair of Charities' Brick Rally, one of the major fundraising events that supports our work at the Ivy Youth and Family Center. Under Rosa's leadership, we raised more than $17K - a record high for the annual fundraiser!
Rosa also supported our COVID-19 response to the County Executive's Stand Up and Deliver program led by Sandra Boatman. Our team of volunteers distributed hot meals weekly to more than 700 residents (our efforts combined with the County distributions totaled more than 7,000 residents each week). Although the Center was closed to the public during the pandemic, that did not mean that Rosa's work as the Facilities Manager declined. In fact, she was constantly at the Center as we faced a few days of heavy rains that created water damage and flooding in the lower level of the Center. On one day, Rosa met with water management technicians, security technicians and copier technicians over a three-hour period!
Rosa was also instrumental in ensuring that Ivy Community Charities was included in a soon to be released Pride in Place video sponsored by the Prince George's African American Museum and Cultural Center.
Congratulations and thank you, Rosa, for all that you continue to do in support of The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc.!
