Charities offers scholarships to high school seniors residing and attending school in Prince George’s County, MD. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit or need and are due in February of each year. Applications are available now!

Interested applicants must submit the following in both cases:

• An official high school transcript, which includes grades for the 1st semester of the current year.


• Three letters of recommendation. Include one from each of the following categories:
  • A guidance counselor or teacher
  • A minister, employer, coach or community leader
  • A neighbor


• A typewritten essay of at least 250 words and no longer than 350 words on a topic selected by the organization.

Eligible applicants will be required to attend an interview with the Scholarship

Award Committee.

Merit scholarships are awarded on the basis of achievement and individual

motivation.

Need-based scholarships are awarded with consideration of academic achievement, financial need and individual motivation.
