Charities has launched an aggressive capital campaign to acquire the Ivy Youth and Family Center, a facility that will meet the needs of the citizens whom we serve across the county. We are seeking a location in central Prince George’s County in a community where the social services that we offer will have the greatest impact. The Center will house our administrative offices, meeting spaces and a banquet hall. Other social service agencies will be invited to share our facility where we can provide a one-stop program of comprehensive services for the community.
Although our membership includes more than 500 professional, dedicated, college-trained women whose creed is "service to all mankind," we recognize that in order to be successful, we must draw upon and leverage the variety of rich resources within the social service community and among businesses, government agencies and entrepreneurs across the county. We are actively seeking and soliciting partnerships at every level to ensure that we can be a catalyst for positive change in the community.
Capital Goal: $3 million
Charities plans to raise $3 million to meet its financial goal to acquire a facility. The facility will accommodate a variety of community service activities and the administrative offices that will total approximately 5,000 to 7,000 square feet. The Center will be financed and operated with funds received from public and private sources, gifts from individuals and groups, fundraising activities, grants, endowments, and in-kind services from its members of Iota Gamma Omega.
